Investigative Approaches

Traditional approaches to ghost hunting involved the use of a medium. The medium or intuitive must be entirely trustworthy and able to prove their abilities. All energies encountered in a haunting may not be a viable consciousness from a deceased entity, but rather a residual energy pattern simply repeating itself. Therefore, the medium's tools of spirit release or exorcism may not be effective.

For those of a more conservative nature, parapsychologists are frequently used. They examine the psychological profile of the living participants along with an intense scientific analysis.

At the Avalon Foundation, the goal is to search for pure anomalies and new physical principles to understand how ghostly phenomenon work by merging science and spirituality. Using these principles, the hope is to find technical and practical ways to integrate them into our world. For example, an understanding of the mechanics of psychokinesis may enable progress in determining the physics behind antigravity.

The investigative approach is divided into two endeavors. One investigation effort focuses on historical research (deeds, census records, etc.), psychological and personal profiling, intuitive and psychometric impressions, dowsing, and photography. Detailed information on the cases is withheld from this researcher until after the investigation, so that intuitive impressions are clean.

The other effort involves the use of traditional and experimental scientific instrumentation to collect data including photographic evidence. An analysis of the material is documented.

Following the onsite investigation and analysis, a comparison of the findings is conducted to determine any correlation. A final report on the investigation and its finding is prepared.

Other investigators are invited to contact Avalon and share information and theories. Only by working together will we broaden our knowledge of the universe.
